Philadelphia alternative rock band, Civil Youth, has quickly attracted many fans after winning the local artist battle to open the Radio 104.5 birthday show last month. A band only for a little over a year and they have quickly found great success as their fan base grows. The group is celebrating the success of opening such a huge festival and will embark on their Evolution Tour in support of their new album “Who Rescued Who.” Civil Youth brings inspiration and hope to the alternative rock music scene.

In this edition of Daily Dish, we speak about a the rock and roll, punk food choices and the  lifestyle of Philadelphia native Civil Youth.

Jen Green: Tell us about the last song you listened to.

Civil Youth: 131 by Emarosa

JG: I’ve always love Emarosa, so what’s the last thing you ate?

CY: A quad shot of espresso

JG: What are some of your upcoming shows?

CY: We start the Evolution Tour and that one is going to be packed! All ages…be there!

Note: This tour is in the South, check their Facebook for specific dates.

JG: Wish I could attend a show, it sounds like it’ll be a great tour. If your music were edible, what words would you use to describe it? Which song should we check out first?

CY: Espresso with a Miller’s Mountain Melt. Listen to “Follow Me” and/or “Take My Hand” as those are the singles for Who Rescued Who.

JG: Now since this is Daily Dish, you need to share with us your favorite food item from your favorite local restaurant back home. Go!

CY: Mountain Melts at Millers Ale House. They’re so bad for you, but so good for the soul. Especially after a show.
